CHEAP! places to eat in paris?

30 Euros for 2 persons... one adult & a child...

plz suggest sum nice n' cheap places 2 eat, in central Paris.

You can find a nice meal for that sum in most non-touristy cafes.

Eating establishments are required by law to post their prices outside the entrance. Just check before going in.

Paris is, in fact, one of the most reasonably priced cities in western Europe.

Rilifane is dead right and xyzlguy is talking BS.

There are so many good places to eat in Paris on your budget that I really don't know where to start. Which district? "Central Paris" is prety wide. I suggest that you just walk around and look at the menus in the area where you are. As Rilifane says, they are obliged by law to post the full details outside (I am always amazed that the same is not true in the US - you have to go inside a restaurant just to find out what they have on offer). These menus make fascinating reading in themselves. I feel that walking round the neighbourhood choosing a restaurant is part of the eating experience. After you have wakened your tastebuds with this kind of foreplay, you can go into one that appeals to you. I always look at how crowded a restaurant is - after all, an empty restaurant must be empty for some reason and you don't want to be the only customers. Oh, and keep away from the "brasseries" - large cafes that sell overpriced sausages and chips.

At this price you won't get a Michelin chef, but you should get a well-cooked and pleasant meal.

A couple of traps to avoid:

Coca cola. Many establishments know that kids (especially Americans) ask for coke almost on instinct and charge quite a lot more for it. Look at the drinks section of the menu before you order

Water - I always ask for a carafe of tap water. Tap water in Paris is very good and the restaurant is legally obliged to provide it if you ask for it.

Also, some set menus are for three courses and include drinks, while others are just for two courses and no drinks. Again, read the menu before going in.

I found the small brasseries offer excellent food for very good prices.  And, if you eat early, they have "early bird" specials, which they usually post outside of their restaurant.  Also, you can eat at street vendors.  They sell rotesserie chicken, green beans, potatoes.  Also, street paninis.  Eating smaller meals more often allows you to "walk off" your calories.  And, then when you round a corner, you will ALWAYS pass a pastry shoppe with gorgeous, fattening  pastries.  You can feel guilt free and not spend a fortune eating lighter and having a splurge or so!

Paris is one of the most expensive cities in the world.  We were there in May and you have to choose restaurants carefully.  Having said that, if you don't order alcohol, you can eat for the amount you note at some of the cafeterias in the Louvre.  Also, we found a place a couple of blocks west of the John F. Kennedy RER stop where they served a pretty good breakfast for twelve Euros.
