  1. OMG you dont even know how muck work is put into cheerleading your just saying that because of what you see your so stupid and the practices are like 2 hours of streatching running and practicing cheers over and over again

    p.s. do you cheer......................................

    didnt think so

  2. i totally agree with you even though my best friend is a cheerleader. i don't get why i should be a sport. "go team go." "wow that was hard work lets call it a sport."

  3. Well I am Cheerleader and I am going into my 2nd season of it this year! I used think the same way you did! Until I decided to try it.......it is not at easy as it looks. I agree wiht you partially the cheers arent hard but the stunts are hard and they can take weeks to perfect because timing has to be learned and skill has to practiced!

Every cheerleader is not an airhead....and they can be athletic as well

I am a high school volleyball player, a dancer, and a cheerleader. I am very athletic and i hate the typical reputation of a cheerleader because it isnt true!

  4. It is a sport. Not a major sport but a sport none the less. A lot of time and practice goes into their routines and these girls are really strong and athletic. What does it matter to you ? What is a sport to you ? They compete. They perform physical activities. They have great team work. And to top it off, they risk their bodies doing this. A lot of injuries in this sport.

  5. ok, i played sports in school (softball, volleyball, basketball)  and I always disliked the typical "airhead" cheerleader.  my only statement in their defense is if you watch the competitions when they are actually doing gymnastics, then I will consider it a sport.  gymnastics is a sport and takes skill.  standing on the sidelines and yelling, screaming, clapping your hands does not count as a sport.  there are definitely 2 sides to cheerleading.....

    p.s i still don't like em!!!!!

  6. You are totally and completely correct. Granted the fact that you have to be in a little bit of shape to do it I dont think cheerleading is going to be hitting the olympics anytime soon.

  7. No I don't agree.

    Sport

–noun 1. an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature, as racing, baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, wrestling, boxing, hunting, fishing, etc.

    2. a particular form of this, esp. in the out of doors.

    3. diversion; recreation; pleasant pastime.

  8. cheering IS a sport.

    you have to train

    learn tumbling

    get strenth to throw people

ytou need flexibility and dedication to be a cheerleader.

  9. well can you do splits or all the crazy tricks cheerleaders do? Not all cheerleaders are air heads i have some friends (who are cheerleaders) and hey are really smart

  10. not all cheerleaders are airheads.

    don't assume that.... it's just a stereotype.

remember when u ASSUME u make an *** out of U and ME (lol i love that saying..=D...)

im a dancer so due to the fact that doing the splits is not as easy as it looks, memorizing tons of routines is confusing, you need to stretch every day to make sure you stay flexible, and its hard to get your timing down perfectly, yes... cheerleading is a sport.

    =)
