CHEM HELP PLEASe!?

I've been looking for a good chemistry drawing application for my college organic chemistry class in the fall, has anyone used chemdoodle before? It looks good and it's not too expensive, but there are other out there too. I don't want to spend the money before I know for sure. Has anyone used this before? Or can suggest another application?

  1. It looks like a handy program.  However, most colleges have access to online tools that do the same thing.  One example is Beilstein Crossfire.  You draw the structure in Crossfire and then it searches for the appropriate molecule in more standard format.  The added benefit is that Crossfire will also give you stereoisomers, which can be helpful.  Another option is to learn SMILES and then type structures into a SMILES decoder (see below for one example).
