So my 4 yr old daughter just got glasses from my eye doctor. She failed the eye exam for school so we took her to him. He said she was far sighted(cant see close up) and I didn't think that at all I thought she might be near sighted(cant see far off) like me.. but anyways her prescription is +3.75 which is very strong. She says see cant see when they are on. I am just wondering if she really needs them or if she is fine. How can u really tell if a 4yr old needs glasses and a prescription that strong?

  1. If she is unable to see with eyeglasses on, then take her back to the prescriber to make sure the prescription is correct.  You may also want to seek a second opinion.

  2. I would take her to another eye doctor for a second opinionm if both doctors give her that prescription then the prescription is probably right. When I got glasses my eyes had a little trouble adjusting to them, but they got used to them in like 1 or 2 days.
