My daughters on the CHIPS health insurance program. I just found out im pregnant and i dont have insurance. Im pretty sure we dont qualify for medicaid, we make just a little too much. I know CHIPS insurance has perinatal coverage, does anyone know if i would automatically qualify for it since my daughter is already on that insurance? Thanks in advance for any help or answers!!

  1. You should apply for medicaid i thought i made too much as well until a friend told me that pregnant women automatically qualifies regardless of how much money they earn. Apply and sees what happens.

  2. The CHIP (Children's Health Insurance Program) does not cover adults in the family of eligible children. Contact your local medicaid office-there is usually a program that allows more income in order to be qualified for medicaid for pregnant women.

If you find that you do not qualify and will need to pay cash for delivery, contact your doctor and hospital well in advance of delivery and find out what the cash prices and payment requirements are. You will need to budget for them.
