ok so i got pulled over for not having a front plate on my car also the rear plate lights were blown out and for my muffler being to loud so got it all fixed go to the chp office to get them singed off so the officer checks it and sings the ticket then he tells me to pop my hood wich has nothing to do with why i was pulled over but im like ok mabe its something they have to ,then he starts seaching my car, again didnt say anything to him, then he tells me to open my trunk so i did and he starts removing my carpet and the cardboard that sits on the spare tire and sarts looking around trying to find something at this point im pretty upset but not once did i argue with him, but was that ok for him to do what the h**l was he looking for? Oh and when i was showing him the rear lights for the plate he yelled at me and told me to step back like if i was going to attack him he made me feel like a criminal.

  1. You did not object, so it is legal.


  2. File a complaint at the cop shop, he had no right to search your car.

  3. You could simply have said, "no". If you weren't sure of your rights, you should say something like: "you do not have my permission to search my car, but I will do anything I am required to do".
