Has anybody used this tour company (CIE Tours)? What are your thoughts on the tour company and the 7 or 8 day tour called "Taste of Ireland"?

  1. my family own a hotel which deals alot with c.i.e, they are grand for older people, but i would highly recommend that you travel here and make your own way around Ireland, the tours for the price you pay does not reflect the quality or service you would get in hotels, what you do not realize is that the cost of your holiday may go through 5-6 different companies which all have to take a cut and the hotel only gets a fraction of what it would get from normal guest, so the service will never be as good. so, i would hop on a plane, arrive here and make your way to where ever you want to go, you will be able to do what ever you want to do when you want to do it, at a better cost to you, and not have 50 other people living in your ear for a week, i really would recommend it. if you need any other information or help, please do not hesitate to contact me..

  2. Unfortunately, I have little experience with CIE.  It looked like several of the tour companies were similar, all taking the same path around touristy parts of Ireland; this is, in part, because of the road limitations of trying to get around in a big coach.  We saw the big buses in very prescribed areas catering to tourists.

I actually did a Vagabond Tour 5-day and loved it.  We saw the "off-the-beaten-path" Ireland, and played in it - from hiking to historical landmarks to horseback riding.  It may be more outdoorsy than what you're looking for, but I hope you find something that works for you.

  3. Think its mostly older people that go on those tours.....from what ive seen anyway!  I think its one of the best tour operators though
