We are travelling from Australia to the States. We are looking at staying at Circus Circus for a few days while in Las Vegas. We have 3 children. Has anyone stayed there or been there? Good or bad experience?

  1. Best of places for children, especially if you stay at the manor which is separate from either hotel/casino tower, with a swimming pool outside.  And Circus Circus has the indoor Adventure Dome Amusement Park.

  2. I have stayed there twice because it was an ausome stay,

hope you have a great stay!

  3. Just be prepared for lots and lots of kids running around. Not the fanciest place but serves it's purpose of providing something for the kids. Have fun and take in the sights. You will love it.

  4. The rooms are very nice  and It has an Indoor theme park the adventuredome which is great for kids, they also have a lot of restaurants and shops. I stayed there last year and since i am a kid take it from me it is Awesome! The only thing i would look out for is the elevator to the pool when i was there it like broke down...but anyways Have fun!

  5. It's not that Circus Circus is a bad hotel,  Its more that it is an older hotel compaired to all those fancy glitter places.   The kids will like it, but l am not sure the adults will.   It is at the north end of the strip & now that the Frontier, Westward Ho & Wet-n-wild have been torn down it a bit of a walk to the next casino.   l might suggest you put limits on the kids spending, once they see the arcade, McDonalds & the adventure dome, they can easily spend as much as any adult would in the casino.    ...Have a great trip.  Vegas is a great place.

  6. well, i lived in Las Vegas for 5 years, and i loved it there, i never stayed at Circus Circus, but i went to the Adventuredome alot, it was fun, but pretty much all the Hotels on the Strip, like the Mgm Grand, Rio, Belagio, Venitian, etc, all have nice rooms, :)

  7. its not all that great, very old.

but there is a midway show that will keep the kids busy.

i would recommend staying at the gold nugget in old town Vegas .

its under the fremont street experience ands has a great shark tank around the pool area.

old town is the original Vegas area, its only about 5 minutes to the strip.

or even the excalaber, very kid friendly on the heart of the Vegas strip.

there are so many places to stay depending on your budget,

i personally would not stay at circus circus myself.

  8. It is good for kids but a little ways from the best part of the strip. It is mediocre and It  would not be my choice.Look at the MGM Grand.

  9. No.  The Excalibur is much better/nicer than Circus Circus.  Also, Excalibur is more conveniently located.  I would stay there instead.

  10. NO!

It's a great place to visit with the kids, but not a great place to stay.  It is an old hotel that really needs to be gutted out and renovated.  No matter what hotel you stay in, you can still take advantage of the attractions at Circus-Circus.

I recommend Excalibur.  I have stayed there with and without kids and I love it.  They have rates from $41/night and they are in a great location that is easily accessible to all of the major hotels.  To visit Circus-Circus for the kids, all you would have to do, is jump on the bus that stops in front of MGM Grand/showcase mall, and ride it down to Circus-Circus.  The cost is $2 one way or $5 for an all day pass.  Kids 5 and under are free to ride.

    Excalibur special rates

Circus-Circus is way down at the end, and not very close to anything.

  11. It is considered the plane Jane of the hotels on the strip. That being said it has the worlds largest indoor amusement park. It is more friendly to the kids than others. It has a fun midway and it has a good arcade for kids.

I reccoment the buffet for the kids. If you are going to gamble get a players card and charge the points against discounts for the buffet. Eat well there and the kids probably wont be hungary for most of the rest of the day.

  12. There is NO WAY that I would stay there. I am also from Australia with 3 children and we visited it when we were there recently and couldn't  wait to get out of the joint. It is not in a convenient location and didn't even look clean. I would absolutely stay somewhere on the strip We stayed at Cesar's Palace which was not particularly child friendly but it was a great place to stay

  13. It's a nice hotel to stay in since you have kids. Besides the room rates are great.  http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/special.p...

  14. yess

  15. It's a good choice if you have kids.  Excalibur and Luxor would be good choices too.  Circus Circus will certainly be the least expensive.  You will probably stay in the manor.  That is, there are a group of small 2 story buildings on the side of the tower.  You must take a tram to get to them.  Your kids will love the tram. The rooms are decent and there is a pool in the manor area.

As far as the hotel itself, you have the circus acts, and the midway and the Adventure Dome (amusement park rides) for the kids.

The buffet and coffee house are decent.  Nothing special but budget priced.  One of the very best steakhouses in Las Vegas is located in the hotel.  It's simply called "The Steakhouse" and if you want a great dining experience, be sure to eat there one evening.

Before we moved to Vegas in '92, whenever we came to visit we stayed there, just because it is so kid friendly.

  16. THe rooms are better than the resort would have you believe but as a resort its not very nice its the cheapest MGM Mirage hotel and with good reason. I woul apy a few more dollars and stay at Excalibur http://vegasuncovered.wordpress.com/2008...

  17. yesss because of the adventure domee!
