CJ Miles reminds me a lot of DeShawn Stevenson - committed to prestigeous collegiate basketball programme but set for pro in last minute, typical SG built, inconsistency early in career, strong criticism from Jerry Sloan, and now the salary - but DeShawn received a deserved amount while CJ may be a little overpaid.

I think Jazz has certain intention to re-sign CJ, but certainly not in this amount and duration. Notably outperformed by Ronnie Brewer and strongly pushed by Morris Almond, CJ has yet to prove he can be at least a good rotation player, plus his perimeter shooting is below standard.

As a result, it is not surprising to see Jazz to let him go.
