CJ Wilson takes some time off by visiting Major League Baseball Fan Cave
Last time Texas Rangers pitcher, C. J. Wilson, made his way to the MLB.com studios, was in the December of 2010.
Heading over to New York to promote a DVD feature on his club’s pursuit for the year’s World Series, the hurler talked about his journey with the squad. He took the opportunity to elaborate on the Texans winning campaign that got them the American League
Championship crown. Recently, he was there again.
While the Rangers lost last year’s World Series Tournament, Wilson’s main focus had been on free agent Cliff Lee.
Now that Lee is pitching with the Philadelphia Phillies, the top ball thrower in the Rangers squad took the opportunity to spend his free day with the fans. From answering Twitter questions to imparting martial arts wisdom, the ace took things easy.
With a free agency option approaching fast, Wilson thinks it is ‘kind of cool’ to be in this situation. Nevertheless, he’s not spending his time thinking about the 2011 offseason period. He’s keeping his focus on the Los Angeles Angels, who he will be pitching
against next.
"I don't really address it at all, because it doesn't help me perform any better on the field to talk about the future. I'm just focused on the present as much as I can be, because that's what worked for me last year. It's what I'm going to continue to do.
The difference is, at the end of the season, obviously, things will have shaken out, and we'll just see what the options are".
The pitcher has just one win in his campaign so far and the Rangers are in New York to take on the Yankees. Fortunately, the club is so far 9–3 in the season.
"Yeah, it's always easier to envision coming back to a winning team than it is to envision coming back to a losing team", Wilson said.
He made a statement that he’s in a position and an age at which he wants to play on a good team for the rest of his career.
