  1. Ok, both are a schooling fish. Otos get 1.5-2 inches and corys get about 3 inches. They need to be in groups of at least 3 to be happy, 6 is better.

Otos are about 3-4$ and corys are 2-3 $ each.

  2. The otto's will cost you roughly $4 give or take a dollar and stay rather small roughly 1 to 2"

There are different kinds of Cory cats and they generally are between $3 to $6 depending on which breed you get. Corydoras are small catfish that feed off the bottom substrate so you will need to add some sinking pellets for them to eat because often times the left over flakes from other fish isnt enough. They stay pretty small between 1 1/2"-3" in length and do better in groups of 3 and up.

    Corydoras are not algae eaters.

  3. Depending on your market peppered corys cost between 4 and 6 dollars a piece same for ottos ottos get 1.5-2.5 inches long, corys get about 1.5-2 inches....(peppered species) some species of corys can get up to 5 inches so make sure and get peppered if thats the route you go.  Good luck

Edit:  Wouldn't hurt to get some of each as corys stay on the bottom of the tank and ottos stick to the sides mostly.  I think beta is referring to corys in general...peppered stay smaller than most species.

Edit:  Corys do eat algae from the bottom of the tank...and are great for eating the leftover flake food that sinks to the bottom...but yes you will need to get shrimp pellets or some kind of sinking food for them.

Most any pet store sell both species petsmart, petco, or your local fish supplier.  Good Luck

  4. I own two otos and they each cost me 1.79 plus tax of course. I bought mine at Petco but im sure petsmart carries them as well. Yes they eat algae but should also be given veggies like cucumber or zuchini, mine loves sinking shrimp pellets. Otos will get no bigger than 1.5 inches.

Ive also owned a peppered cory and it cost me about 3.30 at petco as well. they are not algae eaters, they eat sinking pellets. They can get up to 4 inches.

Im sure petsmart would have both otos and corys, but you might have to ask them to order some peppered corys for you since theyre a specific type. I usually see the albinos and emerald corys but you might get lucky and theyll already have some peppered in stock.

    Good Luck!
