Sialkot Stallions’ fast bowler, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rana-Naved-ul-Hasan-c83909, is not too disappointed with his team’s performance in the Champions League T20 2012, although they failed to qualify for the main event.
Sialkot were defeated in the first match by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Auckland-c766 Aces as their batsmen found it extremely hard to adjust to the pace and bounce on the Johannesburg track.
Just one loss was enough to throw the Stallions out of the competition, although they defeated a strong http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shoaib-Malik-c90088.
Naved expressed that the boys played for pride in the last match and the Test fast bowler is delighted that the side is not going back home empty-handed. The experienced cricketer admitted that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sialkot-c842 had not acclimatized to the conditions in the
initial fixture, with the batsmen struggling to cope with the bounce and movement offered by the pitch.
“It was very good effort from the boys. It was a team effort. Unfortunately, we lost the first match,” he said. “The ball was swinging in the first game, so the batsmen found it a bit difficult to bat. It is part of the game and I am happy that
we ended on a winning note.”
This is the first time that a Pakistan team has taken part in the Champions League, as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 terror attacks in 2008. Ironically, Sialkot were scheduled to take part in the inaugural edition of the
tournament as well.
Naved further added that youngsters have learnt a lot from this tournament by playing alongside some of the best of the world in different playing conditions. The fast bowler hopes for a better show if his side makes it to the next Champions League.
“It was a very good experience and the boys worked hard and enjoyed it. It is unfortunate that we lost, but if we come next time we try to do better. We have won the last match, so we will be going back with good memories,” the discarded Pakistan fast
bowler expressed while talking to Pakpassion.
