CLiff bar before cross country is it good, bad?

I weigh 101-105 5'4 i dont look that skinny here is pic http://s44.photobucket.com/albums/f18/ladodgersnoah/?action=view&current=Photo150.jpg tell me wat you think skinny, avg, fat??/ anyway and i am startin cross country is it a good idea to have a cliff bar before practice or should i not have it i want to stay the same weight give or take

  1. It's fine. For distances it is good to have carbs and cliff bars are just that. I would eat it 1 hour before your practice though because it will give you energy. Cliff bars are healthy.. they just have lots of carbs and a little bit extra calories then some people like to have. If I remember right I think it is 250 calories. I think it is perfect for a runner. I run all the time and haven't had one in a while but now since you talk about it, I am considering getting some haha. You are  not over weight by any means... So, go ahead and eat extra calories everyday because you a running it off anyways!!! It depends on how many miles you run and how fast but if you run about 6 or 7 you will burn about 3 cliff bars haha.

  2. perfectly fine.  Clif bars are by far one of the best bars on the market because of the quality ingredients they use.  Also check out their gels and blox, those would be great for a long distance runner like yourself
