CM Punk to leave WWE
There are possibilities that The Second City Savoir, CM Punk, may leave WWE in the upcoming weeks. WWE has offered Punk a new long term contract. But Punk has not signed the contract yet and his previous contract will expire in a few weeks.
Punk stated that he was unhappy with his current position in the WWE Company. He said that he is never listed in the top eight names that are endorsed upward. Punk always remains under the names like John Cena, The Miz, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, Undertaker
and now Alberto Del Rio. He said that he wanted to have some time off.
Punk is currently heading The New Nexus group in Raw edition. He was feuding with Randy Orton with the help of The New Nexus members, David Otunga, Mason Ryan, Michael McGillicutty and Husky Harris. He wanted to take revenge from Orton, stating that Orton
cost him World Championship at Unforgiving in September 2008. The rivalry between Punk and Orton started at Royal Rumble on January 30, 2011. Punk, with the help of The New Nexus, interrupted Orton and cost him WWE Championship against The Miz.
Orton took the pay-back from The New Nexus by punting each member in every week’s addition of Monday Night Raw from January 31 to March 14. On April 3, 2011, WWE’s main pay-per-view event WrestleMania XXVII took place. Orton defeated Punk even with an injured
knee. On April 11, 2011, The New Nexus members returned back and cost Orton the number one contender match.
Punk challenged Orton a WrestleMania rematch on April 18, 2011 that was accepted. Orton, not only took the victory, but also hit the RKO to Punk after the match. The continuous assault by The New Nexus and their leader, Punk, caused a 'Last Man Standing
Match' between Punk and Orton at Extreme Rules. On April 25, 2011, Orton was drafted to Friday Night SmackDown after WWE Drafts results. On May 1, 2011, Punk lost the fight to Orton at Extreme Rules. The New Nexus members also tried to confront in the match.
But The Anonymous Raw General Manager e-mailed that they were banned from Extreme Rules.
It was the last match that Punk fought in WWE. The New Nexus member, Mason Ryan, stunned his members by leaving the ring on May 2, 2011 in Monday Night Raw. The situation of Punk’s storyline is also showing that he may leave the WWE soon.
Punk is a three-time World Heavyweight Champion and the winner of 2008 and 2009 Money in the Bank ladder matches. Punk was also the founder of Straight Edge Society which was disbanded on September 3, 2010.
Punk has not decided yet that whether he will keep his contract with WWE or he will leave WWE. The WWE Universe is keeping their eyes on Punk’s decision.
