CN Canadian Women’s Open 2012: Inbee Park fires 68 in first round to tie for third position

South Korean Inbee Park fired a 68 in the first round of the CN Canadian Women’s Open 2012 to tie for the third position along with Lydia Ko of New Zealand.
Park kicked off the first round of Canadian Open at the Vancouver Golf Club, with heaps of confidence as she was determined to do her best this time.
She started her round on the 10th hole, which did not affect her game at all. She parred the 10th and sank a birdie on the 11th hole. Despite a solid roster featuring stars
like current world number one Yani Tseng, Paula Creamer, Stacy Lewis, Suzann Pettersen, Shanshan Feng and Angela Stanford, Park displayed a solid performance and fought her way through to the third position along with Ko.
Park sent the crowd clapping after she rattled off an impressive birdie on the 13th. The second phase of the round also brought plenty of surprises to the young South Korean, as she sank two straight
birdies on the first and second hole. She then parred the remaining holes, cementing her position on the leaderboard.
Yani Tseng, who is desperately seeking to end her brief winning drought, displayed an electrifying performance as she registered a 66 to take an early lead.
Analysts said that Park may not find it easy to keep her momentum going in the next three rounds, as other players will try to bounce back.
South Korean Na Yeon Choi grabbed much of the attention as she posted a 67 to grab the second position.
Speaking to the media about her performance in the opening round, Park said that she was extremely happy with what she did on the first day of CN Canadian Women's Open 2012. She said that her game was almost
perfect on the putting green.
“Today was like the day nothing really went bad.  I mean, I hit a lot of fairways and greens, and I was able to hole the putts that I needed.  I still left a couple out there, but it's always like this.  I'm
really satisfied with the way I played today, and hopefully three more days like this will be good,” the South Korean golfer said.
When asked how she is going to face the troubling weather in the next round, Park said: “I don't really care about the weather because everybody has to deal with the weather and everybody is in the same situation”.
