CN Canadian Women’s Open 2012: Three players to keep an eye on

The CN Canadian Women’s Open 2012, which is set to be played next month, at The Vancouver Golf Club, Canada, is going to pit the most fearsome LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) contenders against
each other, with a hefty purse.
Some of the key contenders who have confirmed their commitment to take part in the much-hyped tournament, scheduled for August 20-26, include defending champion Brittany Lincicome, current world number one
Yani Tseng, Paula Creamer, Stacy Lewis, Suzann Pettersen, Cristie Kerr, Natalie Gulbis, Lexi Thompson, Lydia Ko, Na Yeon Choi, and Katherine Hull.
Although the roster is loaded with players known for their unmatched skills, there are a few who are able to steal the show when they finally come face-to-face against their rivals.
On top of the list is Taiwanese Yani Tseng, who is desperately seeking to add a victory to her profile. Tseng might not have impressed her fans in the last few tournaments as she has been down and out, but
she is brimming with confidence and ready to cut her rivals down to size.
Tseng appears to be indomitable when it comes to points. Having earned 747.73 points in total, the Taiwanese prodigy has made it virtually impossible for other players to topple her from the top spot in the
near future.
Having solid points is what has helped Tseng stand firm at her number one spot in the Women’s World Golf Rankings.   Although winless in the last ten tournaments, the top-ranked star is able to pull through
and rack up her fourth LPGA title for the season at Vancouver next month. Upon first glance of Tseng’s stats of the 2012 season, it makes sense to pin hopes on her and predict that she is going to finish well at Vancouver.
Despite the fact that the still-feared golfer made plenty of mistakes in the last ten tournaments of the season, odds are definitely not against her, and she has what it takes to steal the show at big events.
South Korean Na Yeon Choi, who came into prominence after grabbing her first major title at the US Women’s Open 2012 a few days ago, is a new face on the scene. Choi has been around for a long time as she turned
professional in 2004, but she proved her worth when she recorded her first major title.
Although not as strong as Tseng when it comes to strength, resilience and putting skills, the South Korean star can prove to be a tough contender if she manages to keep her cool on the course.
Having racked up six LPGA titles so far, Choi is among the hot favourite contenders for the CN Canadian Women’s Open 2012. Some analysts said that the young golfer may not find it easy to repeat her US Open
performance at Vancouver, as other players will be putting their best feet forward in order to atone for their past lapses.
The 24-year-old star struck fear into her rivals after she surged to the second position in the Women’s World Golf Rankings. Analysts also pointed out that the LPGA titan might have mapped out her own plans
for the tournament, but the key to her success will be whether or not she can avoid letting her nerve overcome her.
American Stacy Lewis, who has emerged as a tough player on the LPGA Tour lately, is the player spectators will want to keep an eye on. After a stunning start to the 2012 season, Lewis has faded off a little
as she has slipped from her second position lately. However, she has bounced back once again, clawing her way back to the third after staying a few days at the fourth spot in the world rankings.
