  1. Here are some general duties, (first link in sourses) -"Certified Nursing Assistant will be responsible for bathing, grooming and feeding patients, assisting nurses with medical equipment, and checking vital signs. Duties will also include giving patients important social and emotional support and providing vital information on patient conditions to nurses."

MedHunter goes into a more specific listing which I think is better, (2nd link in sources.)....

"Duties include, but may not be limited to the following: assists with baths, oral hygiene, shaving, etc.; passes water to patient; escorts patients; passes clothing to patients; makes beds; assists with patient meals; maintains patient care supplies; takes vital signs, height, and weight; collects specimens; assists with bowel care; performs postmortem care; repositions patients; performs range of motion exercises; applies prosthetic devices; performs colostomy wound skin care; and uses various types of equipment to perform various procedures (i.e., beds, wheelchairs, maxi lift, oximetry, etc). Incumbent also recognizes emergencies and initiates CPR; observes and reports changes in patient's condition to the nurse; documents care provided in patient medical record; participates in mandatory education classes; and performs other duties as assigned."

  2. the assist the elderly and basically assist nurses in whatever they need. You can read alot of Job descriptions at PureMedicalJobs.com and click on Nurse assistant page

  3. Certified A$$ Wiper is more like it!

  4. They mainly work in assisted living centers or assist in home. They give baths, feed people, and basically help people take care of themselves because they can no longer do these tasks.

You don't have to be a high school graduate. Just need to pass the state examination, which is not really hard.

Depending on your needs the pay may or may not be satisfactory.
