I am hopeing to start CNA classes next month at a University. I have read that you have to do a written and skill test? Is both required? What is the differnce between the two? Also if the skill test is the step by step proceeder that you have to do infront of the director, will we be doing this with an actual patient from a nursing home or another student? I hope that makes scense I am just a lil confused. Any other advice on what I should expect would be greatly appreciated i am just nerveous. Thanks in advance

  1. First you will start out in a class room learning; and taking test. Then you will learn skills ( hands on ) ; after you complete this process then you will go into a nursing home and take care of patients first as a team with your instructors then you usually work with a team mate.

Then you need to take a written test to get your license; and a skill test that the director grades you on.
