  1. First, I think you should get it professionally done by someone like Transeco.  You didn't provide us the model of engine, so I suspect your automotive knowledge is amateur at best.  A 1973 F-250 could have something like 5 or 6 different engine sizes, assuming it's even the original engine.  Also, there are regulatory concerns for retrofitting vehicles.

On the plus side, you can probably find a kit for any carbureted Ford engine, as their parts were fairly consistent.  You just need to find a kit for your engine displacement.  Raso makes CNG kits for many Ford engines, but I'm not certain if they are carburetor replacement, or injector replacement.  If you give them the block number/model they might be able to tell you if their kit will work on it.

Also, you'll want to see if there is even a CNG supply near you.  Keep in mind that a CNG vehicle will only have about a 150 mile range.  Probably more like 100 miles for a F250.  The DoE has an alternative fuels station finder.  For greater range, and easier refueling, you might want a LPG conversion.

As one last thought:  You may not be able to find a conversion kit for your engine if it is pre-1990s.  You might consider putting a new engine in your truck.
