  1. I would take the risk for sure. Colombia seems like a lovely country. I work with many Colombians, and they only have nice things to say about it. A few nutters around yeah, doing "bad things", but you cannot judge an entire country on what a few idiots do. Theres some bad apples in every country; without being careful and with some bad luck you could end up in deep **** in every corner of the world, while if you make sure to pay attention and show respect, you could survive, and have a good time in, the most "dangerous" country in the world.

  2. The risk is minimal. I took that risk last year to the tune of 125,000 air miles and will do so again this year.

  3. Didn't watch the videos. Don't need to. I've been all over Colombia. Bogota, Medellin, Cartagena, Santa Marta, and 100's of small cities. Not one time did I have a problem. Beautiful country, beautiful and friendly people, maybe the nicest people I have ever met. Learn a little "survival" spanish and go. It's difficult to return to the U.S. after visiting there.

  4. I might go to the capital. I would not venture into the mountain regions. I would love to do research in their forests, but I would not risk it.

  5. Yes I want to go to Colombia, despite whatever is in those videos and no I did not watch them. what is the point of this question?
