COMPUTER TROUBLE!!!?

Something is wrong with my HP. My homescreen is just a black screen. Start bar. No icons. Just a blank screen. How do I get it back to it's original icon filled, start bar self? I would really like to avoid a system restore.

  1. Hit ctrl-alt-delete to bring up the task manager.  Then under "File" choose "New Task(run)".

    Type

    explorer.exe

    that will fix it


  2. depending on how bad your computer is i would consider doing a system restore and possibly formatting your hard drive.

  3. I think we're going to need more information before this can be answered.  What happened before this occurred?  Does it boot?  can you see windows at all?
