  1. LOADS OF INFO ON THIS HERE:

  2. First, you'll need brake levers that are designed for use with "short-pull" road calipers.  You don't want "long-pull" brake levers that are designed for use with "V" (or linear pull) brakes.  Shimano offers several that should do the job.  Here's one:

For shifters, I'm assuming you'll want to go with "trigger" shifters, as opposed to "grip" shifters.  Shimano offers the SL-R770 "rapid fire" shifters for 10 spd (other models are available for 8 & 9 spd bikes).

One more thing I want to suggest is the purchase of a comfortable set of grips.  I recommend Ergon and have been very pleased with their GC2 grip.  They're quite comfortable, and the integrated bar-ends offer another hand position you might really appreciate.  Ergon offers grips with longer bar-ends as well.  The GC2 is produced in two sizes; I use the larger size (though my hands would be considered avg/med) and believe I would not have been as happy with the small size.  Ergon grips are available through many sources.  Here's the link:

    Good luck and keep riding!

  3. since your using cable brake you can get bar brakes and shifters off the shimano falt bar set up line or use a mountain bike one
