CPA australia in singapore?

i had known that cpa is a qualification that is different in countries. but my school (SIM ) is telling me that after i finish my accounting degree , i can join the CPA Australia program. What's the point of having cpa australia when i will be working in Singapore? Can i practise that in singapore ? how? why?

  2. Definitely, CPA Australia or CPA Singapore or CPA USA are the same stuff, but needs conversion. That is, must work for a few years in accounting field then make the switch. CPA Australia is recognised by Singapore employers, because Australian and Singapore accounting standards are similar. The only difficulty is getting that few years of experience, few companies will hire you with no experience. To even apply to study for CPA Australia, you need at least 2 years of related prior working experience plus your recognised accounting degree. Maybe you can try marketing or computer science or engineering, but very expensive course fees, with good chance of getting a job after graduation. Chances of accounting graduates securing a job isn't that high.
