Question:

CPU 50% first download, 100% second download?

Okay this is what happens. When I start a download (doesn't matter what browser I use IE, FF, OP all do it) the CPU will jump to 50% for a single download, after the download is done, it stays the same 50% so I start another download and it jumps now to 100%. The third download I can't even do because the save location window doesn't even show up. The only thing I can do is end the browser in the task manager and start the process over again.

This happened after I restored some files from a corrupted external HD. But most of those files are on DVDs now and are deleted from the computer. I've done virus and spyware scans and registery cleans but the problem keeps continuing.

I don't know what else to do, please help.

  1. If your computer was attacked by spyware or virus then no spyware cleaner can fix the problem. For a better result it is always better to format the drive and reload the windows. Always remember IE dosent support more than two downloads at a time.If you still want to continue using the same Windows OS and do not wish to reload the windows, then i would suggest that you use a Download manager to download files. I feel this should fix the problem of downloading.
