CPU Usage explorer.exe avi files???

Question

my cpu usage bar goes so up cuz of explorer.exe read some where online AVi files can do this and i had just started doing things with avi files how can i fix this from happing? im using windows vista sp1

Explorer.exe is a of course your pc running. as for AVI thats a video file extention. Just because you are using AVI files to watch Videos does not mean that is whats causing your CPU usage to go up. Viruses in some cases like to inject themselves into your harddrive by clinging onto files/torrents/etc. Some viruses will copy themselves and rename files to that Virus scans cannot find them and that you, yourself as a user, would not think of it being a virus running in the background.

You may have been infected, and might want to get on track on fixing your problem before it gets worse. Would not advise using Norton or other widely known Anti Virus programs. Try these things to fix the problem.
