Question:

CPU overheating! Running at 80 degrees C?

As the question topic suggests, my CPU is overheating drastically. It's running at 80c which is obviously not good.

Can anyone suggest the best CPU cooler that is plug n play? I don't have the time nor the skills to sit faffing with watercooling. I just want an excellent heatsink and fan that will remove my problem.

Please provide links if you can!

  1. Get an ASUS Silent Square Pro, (provided link below)

It will work with both Intel and AMD processors; also get some Artic Silver 5 thermal paste to apply to your processor. (also listed below)

I use this cooler and Paste on an Intel Core 2 Quad QX9650 and it keeps it right around 31C. Nice and quiet too....

    Hope that helps!

  2. Are you using that laptop now? Crikey!

  3. do you mean 80 deg C or F?

if its F then theres no problem if its C then what type of cpu do you have? although very high 80 deg C is actually a "normal" temp for an older P4 under load, but any other type of cpu and its def overheating
