  1. Find your nearest Homeland Security office, go there, and ask their advice.  That's why they are there.

  2. A new immigrant in the CR-1 classification is not provided with any forms to fill out at the time of admission. Naturally, you had to fill out a Customs form, but as for immigration forms, you turned in your immigrant visa. That's enough.

After your admission, you can apply for a Social Security card and a drivers license with the agencies that handled those matters.

Most new immigrants these days are receiving their cards within 3 months of arrival. Are you still at the same address that was on the data sheet for your immigrant visa?

You can use the temporary evidence of permanent resident status in your passport in the same way that a green card is used.

Go to the site below and download the correct form G-731 and mail it to the card facility that is supposed to produce your card. There are four service centers. Choose the one that is closest to where you reside.

They'll inform you of the card's status.

  3. You have to call USCIS, inform them that you are now in US and confirm your address.  Your greencard will be in the mail in two weeks.

The other option is go to USCIS website, make an appointment on INFOPASS and go in person to local office.
