  1. try drinking lots of water, stretch, if you already are doing lots of stretches talk to a doctor if it continues it could be serios.

  2. Eat potassium foods, and drink lots of water BEFORE you swim to be hydrated when you swim, and when I say before, drink it throughout the whole day, and stop about an hour before you swim. While you're swimming you shouldnt drink much water.

  3. Eat foods with potassium, like bananas, and drink water at least an hour before a practice or meet. You can eat other things and drink after that too of course, just make sure to start eating then.

Stretch around 5-15 minutes before you get in the water. Focus on your calves, but stretch other areas too; it's a good habit to get into.

Finally, do a good warm up before you swim fast. That goes for practices and meets. A good warm up example is this:

    400 easy/medium freestyle

    300 kick/drill/swim (by 100), choice of stroke

200 IM (50 of each stroke)

    100 Free

Then do a couple of 50's starting the 50 easy and ending fast.

    Good luck!

  4. Stretch.

  5. you should first streach

then make sure you are drining lots of water before and during practice

also relax your foot a little bit more.

eat lots of bananas to help it from cramping

  6. eat lots and lots of potassium, and don't point your toes so much.

  7. ahh this used to happen to me very often. so often that it disrupted my practices. however, as i developed more muscle and evened out my energy use, i started experience less and less cramps. so it just takes time, proper stretching (dynamic stretch before practice, static stretch after), and bananas help too! XD

    good luck!

  8. Maybe build more muscle in your calfs.
