CRB vs Police report?

Is an employment CRB the same as a standard immigration police report?

  1. CRB Check asks if you have ANY criminal covictions, cautions, spent convctions, (if working with children or the elderly) stuff like that

  3. I don't think they are the same thing.  CRB only asks very basic questions like where were you and what did you do in the past 5 yrs.  I don't really know much about immigration police report though, but I would think it'd be more comprehensive that a CRB.

  4. A CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) Report will seach through all the police records in the UK for anthing at all that shows up with your details on it.  An enhanced report will do that but will search for something specific.  I had to have an enhanced report when I was working with children.

    If I had a record of, say, unpaid parking fine, than that would show up, but in the enhanced report it would show that it was not related to anything that would put a child or vulnerable adult in danger if I was working with them.

    PS - I passed with flying colours and enjoy my work with children in a nursery.
