CRF/RJ wins Men’s 4*50m freestyle relay title: Day three – 2011 Jose Finkel Trophy
Freestyle relay team of CRF/RJ won the gold medal of Men’s 4*50m butterfly event on the third day of the 2011 Jose Finkel Trophy on September 1, in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
CRF/RJ relay squad dominated the event and won the title in a time of 1 minute and 29.28 seconds. Their time was just 3.16 seconds slower than the national mark of 1 minute and 26.12 seconds, made by ECP/SP in 2009. In addition, they remained only 2.06 seconds
behind the championship mark of 1 minute and 27.22 seconds, set by ECP/SP, during 2009.
The gold winning team was 1.79 seconds ahead of their subsequent team, MINAS, which captured the silver medal of the event by reporting in a time of 1 minute and 31.07 seconds. The third fastest spot of the swim was claimed by ECP/SABESP/SP, which was just
0.07 seconds slower than the silver medallist and stepped on the podium for bronze medal by submitting an effort of 1 minute and 31.14 seconds.
The winning team comprised of Bernardo A S Novaes, Cesar Augusto Cielo Filho, Nicholas A D Dos Santos and Andre Luiz C M Dos Santos. Novaes completed his swim in a time of 23.53 seconds, while the race was continued by Cielo Filho, who ended his swim in
21.36 seconds to post 44.89 seconds on the board. Nicholas Santos was the third leg of the team, who posted 1 minute and 06.68 seconds, while Andre Santos carried on the swim and concluded the four-lap relay event with a timing of 1 minute and 29.28 seconds.
The fourth position of the event was obtained by FFC/RJ, which remained 0.82 seconds slower than their former finishers and clocked a time of 1 minute and 31.96 seconds. The fourth fastest team was trailed by CURITIBANO, which was only 0.63 seconds behind
their former finishers and posted a time of 1 minute and 32.59 seconds.
The sixth spot of the race was secured by UNISANTA squad, which failed to overwhelm the effort of their preceding squad, with a difference of only 0.49 seconds. UNISANTA posted a time of 1 minute and 33.08 seconds for sixth position. They were followed by
CORINTHIANS/S.BERNARDO, who occupied seventh spot of the swim with a timing of 1 minute and 33.56 seconds. The final spot of the race was secured by PRAIA CLUBE, whose swimmers ended their swim in a time of 1 minute and 34.84 seconds.
The session concluded after the laudable efforts of all participating teams, while the winners received their awards and accolades after the meet’s completion.
