  1. I weigh 185ish, I've been racing for 25 years.

I  have a 07 250f  a 07 450f and an 08 450f and I can honestly say I like riding my 250f more. Since your stepping up I would say the 250f is the best choice.

  2. Since your only 5'9 I believe you should try the CRF250 or possibly try a CRF230. but if you think your still growing then get the Crf250. Hope this helps

  3. I wouldn't go bigger than a 250cc 4 stroke if you are coming off a crf150r as it is way too big a jump.

Get used to a 250f before you think about a 450cc.

I also notice by your other questions that you are only 14 years old.  At 14 and if an Aussie you would not race a 450cc at that age here.  you would need to be a senior to race one.

  4. Are you racing or just riding??

If you're racing, the 450 puts you into the big boy class and it means you have to be FAST!!!

If you're just riding, the 450 is super powerful and lightning quick.  But it can be a bit to handle at first.  If' you're pretty strong and have  good balance you can dominate with a good 450.

That being said the 250 is more fun simply because it's a bit easier to handle.  I ride a 250 and I'm about the same size as you.  This thing is so much fun.  I've ridden 450's before, but I just have so much more fun on my 250 because it's easier for me to handle.

  5. Pick one you should be able to get used to the power heck I know an 8th grader who rides a 450 on a 450 you'll be able to jump easily and have some fun

  6. you defently dont want  450 they have miles more power than 99 % of riders can use

get a 250f they are more than good enough especially as your coming from a 150

  7. Well if you racing, you could go with either one. If you ride the 450 you have to be quite  a skilled rider. Both 250 and 450 are good race bikes. It`s your choice. Id ur crewing around,  i would go with the 450 because it`s really powerfull and all. If you ant a bit smaller bike go with the 250.

  8. If you have been riding a 150, go with the 250. I think the 450 would be way too much power. And someone said the 250 is a lot slower, and that may be true in a drag race or on a track with a lot of straight aways, but on tighter tracks they are almost the same. look a ryan villopoto, in the supercross season he was running faster laps on a 250 than the guys on 450s, and he was doing it outdoors too, so power is not a problem. I went from an 80, to a 250f, and it took a little bit to get used to it, there is definately A LOT more power, and a 450 would just be dangerous.

  9. yeah, 250f, 450f would be a huge step

  10. well i just rode both this week at some dirtbike races!

    i curently ride a rm 85 and a crf150r

i enjoyed the 450 alot more! its got plenty of power and

rides easily! the 250 ride good too but you have to try harder to go faster.the 250 would only be a change in hight and a  some power but the 450 has much more advantage.

the 450 is heavier but if your 175 pounds and plenty tall it will work out fine. also sometimes the 250 and 450 can be a pain to start but thats part of it.

  11. well the 450 is a good bike for trail and track i am 15 (girl) and i ride my dads 450 most of the time its a good bike

and i think if you get the 250 they have 2 exhaust pipes and if you wanted to go to sizes bigger on the tires you cant because the tire would hit the pipe and those to pipes are mostly for sound

  12. Depends on the type of riding your doing

Just trail riding and having fun-250f

    Racing-450f
