CRF250r vs KX250f?

Question

Hi my sons grown out of hi cr85 and wants to get a new bike he thinks its going to be out of the crf250r or kx250f but still hasnt taking out the yz250f or rmz250. His 178cms and weighs 60kg. His quite strong and his a pretty good rider, his been riding for 3 years now. The bike will be used for both trailriding and racing maybe a tiny bit more racing. The model of the bike will be between 04-06 because of price which one would you think would be the best bike for him.Could you please tell me why and what are the good and bad things about the bike. I would go for the honda. honda has impeccable build quality.  if he has been riding for a while and he is that big, you might want to move up to a 450.  they are more popular so parts, information, and used bikes are around.  I speak out of experience for my kid who was in a similar situation.  he was bored with the 250 in just a few months, and I ended up getting him a crf450x.  we love it.  it's easy to maintain and ready to race practically out of the box, and we've never had a single problem with it.

you might want to consider a DRZ 400 also.  I have the supermoto version and an extra set of wheels for offroad.  it runs great and the engine is built to last.  it's not to tall with easy ergos, and has lots of power.

wrong forum dude, maybe you should try the motorcycles forum in cars and transportation, but here is the answer. There is no better bike, it will all come down to what color bike you or he wants to have. All the japanese bikes are built really well.....

i would go with a honda cr(f) if your racing i would go with a four stroke even woods riding i have 2 yz85s and 1 ktm105 and i love two strokes but i like my raptor 660 better because of instant power and honda is my prefered brand over kawasaki but the four stroke hondas have valve problems some buddies of mine have honda 450s and 250s and have trouble starting them but i dont know much about kawasakis sorry because i dont know any one that has one hope that helps

honda. but if you have the money and do start racing.. you can sennd the kx250f to pro circuit... they make that bike as fast as the 450

but the all around best bike is the honda. quality and it will last.

i would go with the honda just it's good at racing and trail i would also go for the dual exguast
