  2. stop playing cricket

its doesnt seem to be yr cup of tea ,by yr post

  3. when you catch inter-lock your pinkies so the ball can't get through and watch the ball all the way into your hands.

when you bowl relax completely and don't grip the ball too hard. use your front arm to pull down when you aim to propell your bowling hand over quicker.

  4. the best way to up your pace is to increase the pace and power of your run up if you really attack the wicket it will add another 5 mph onto your speed. also cok your wrist as u bowl so your wrist is in front of your hand that can also increase your pace. hope this helps. ps dnt bother with cutters bowling with the seam up will increase your chance of swing and seam movement anyway.

  5. If your playing against people the same age as you, than pace is important, but not as important as pitching the ball right up to the bat.Having to go onto the front foot to drive, invariably means lbw,or bowled as the ball on english pitches will swing when its pitched up.Very difficult for the batter to hit through the line.Hold the ball lightly before you release to create more movement in the air.

Fingers across the balls seam and roll the wrist across as you release for a cutter.Roll the wrist quite fast.

Bowl a bit wider of the crease for in swing, don't get too square on after release.Speed at the level your playing is second to swing

Keep your hands a little softer when you catch so that the ball tkes more time to bounce off your hands, giving you time to adjust on ball impact

  6. Just practice hard, but have you considered also just testing to see if you can do other styles like swing or spin?

Catching tips. If you are a bad catcher, better to avoid fielding in close positions. A little farther out toward the boundary gives you more time to react and more likely to catch successfully. Concentrate on stopping the ball as being more important than the catch. The opportunity to catch will happen once or twice in an innings, but you will constantly have to stop balls. Use your body side on, kneeling to make a wider target to stop a ball. If catching get a good sight of the ball and use both hands. I always found throwing the hardest thing in fielding. Use the non-throwing arm as a guide like a gunsight to aim along.

  7. Im exactly the same although my pace and line are perfect its just my length. Ive tried to find out ways but a good one is to practice at nets, practice makes perfect. Also try get coaching its good help. But the best way which helped me improve was using my height to get pace taking a bigger stride or a longer leap, also you can try to get into indoor cricket, its not a big sport in England but its great for practice.

  8. really sprint on your run up for maximum pace and swing. Try holding the ball Cross seam or hold your 2 fingers to the side of the ball (about 0.5cm left/right of seam) If your fielding in the deep and a ball goes up in the air (not at you but goes up in the sky) get yourself in position to catch (stay still and hold concentration) and have your hands in a cup shape close to your body. Practice as often as possible and also talk to your coach at school (if you have one ) and he maybe able to help your bowling action and catching- eg. I was once in 5thxI (the worst team) talked to my coach had a few extra lessons and am now in the 2nds as Captain! Its good you have a natural outswing action- annoying for batsmen so just keep practicing and talk to your coach or go to the BBC website and look up tips and trciks (ithink its called that) there are many Eg. Matthew Hoggard on how to swing the ball, Collingwoods Cathcing and throwing tips and many more onthe BBC sprt- Cricket website

  9. Just stop and think first. How will your line and length go if you try and increase your pace. There are many pace bowlers who may be quick but can only drop the ball on the spot every now and then. Look at Glenn McGrath, not the quickest but very hard to play.

Catching will come with practice, don't just work on your bowling at practice, fielding is as important.

Have a good yarn with your coach before you do anything.

  10. Take a longer run up, put more effort into your final strides, grip the ball harder
