Question:

CRM/Database/Transaction Freeware Recommended?

I need a web-based 'directory' of professionals. Each professional will have a unique profile, offering one or more services. Direct contact details will not be displayed, but will be recorded in the database.

Client users are to register for database access When they find a professional they like, they can purchase a service offered by this professional online.

There must be a record for the delivery of every service 'transaction' Professionals may need to send private info to the client to complete/upon completion of the service. Upon completion of the service, clients may provide published feedback of the professional.

To make the set-up pay for itself, we need a system whereby every transaction results a small % of the service fee to us, to cover database, web, administration, marketing & other business costs.

It should be scalable as it won't be large from the start. Budget is 'nihil'.

That's in a nutshell what I need.

How to go about this? Which freeware to use? I looked into VTiger, but I will need more than that, it appears. There might be better options.... All ideas, suggestions, real help ~ all welcome!

  1. try SugarCRM.

download the Community Edition. It is free.

you can download from here: http://www.sugarforge.org/content/downlo...

  2. What you're trying to do is over my head, but search sourceforge.net, it's a huge repository of great open-source (free) programs and projects.

It seemed to have several database & transaction results that (from my non-understanding) seem like they might fit what you need.
