CRNAs and CSN ?

they say the CRNAs ( certified registered nurse anesthetists ) are expanding and so is the CSN (conscious sedation nurse ) . it was also said that anesthesiologist might decrease because the CRNA and the CSN will take over.

is it true?

what will happen to the anesthesiologist ?

what will become of the anesthesiologist?

asking due to curiosity

  1. CRNAs work under an anesthesiologist, a doctor with specialty training and certification in anesthesia. CRNAs do have a fair amount of autonomy but they won't out and out replace anesthesiologists.

    Most nurses working in critical care areas (intensive care, emergency room, etc) have been doing conscious sedation for quite some time now, but even then, in most cases, a doctor is doing the initial push of sedation medication.

    The Medical Field in general is expanding since it is a recession proof occupation.

    There will always be a need for anesthesiologist's they WILL NOT be outsourced
