hey so I am going on a cruise this summer. i am going with my 2 cousins, who are both in their early 20's. I have been on a cruise before, but because I am 16, and there won't be any "adults" to supervise me- I will be very independent durring the trip. Any advice on things to bring? we are going to greece, rome, greece islands... ??

Also- we'll be catching the boat in Rome- which means I'll have to fly there.. 1st time on a plane!!!!!! WHAT is it like, and will I get sick (I dont get motion sickness very easily, but when my nerves are bad I do)

  1. What do you want to wear?  For the most part it's very casual on a cruise.  You'll want lots of sunscreen and carry a couple tshirts in case you get a bit too much sun on your shoulders.  You'll dress for dinner so no shorts and no tanks but anything else is fine.  Most cruise lines print out a newsletter each night that gives you a list of what activities will go on the next day.  Look over that and see what catches your interest.

Get some motion sickness medicines.  Even if you don't usually need it, better to be safe than sorry.

As for the plane, carry one bag with all sorts of entertainment.  Books, i-pod, nintendo ds, portable dvd player.  it's a really long flight.  Carry only as much money as you think you'll need each day.  Leave the rest in the ship cabin.  Same with your passport.  You'd hate that to get stolen in one of those countries.  And if you carry a purse with your money, carry one with a strap long enough to cross over your chest.

Just be safe.  Think about things.  I don't want to make you afraid, but Rome and Athens are big cities and like any big cities there are lots of bad people.  Check in with the cousin's regularly so they know where and when to expect you.
