  1. I haven't cruised as many lines as some of the people, but I would recommend Holland America for a honeymoon / romantic getaway.  Many of the other cruise lines market specifically for families / children and leans a little less toward the romantic.  Holland America offers programs for children, but they do cater to a more adult crowd (aka less screaming babies).

Also, since this is a honeymoon - if you can afford the upgrade to the balcony it's worth it.  It might be a great time to splurge.

As far as ships go, the newer the better (prettier, shinier, etc).  But the I enjoy the older ships just as much - they are typically a little smaller, easier to navigate, have less crowds, etc.

Congratulations and I hope you enjoy your honeymoon where ever you may go!

  2. take a Royal Caribbean cruise !

  3. I love Royal Caribbean, Princess and Queen Mary.

  4. We just got back from our honeymoon on Sunday, we too sailed on the Carnival Conquest.  It was alot of fun.  I do recommend getting a balcony room, this gave  us our own private deck to be able to sit on without being surrounded by all the crowds.  There are lots of activities to do on board.

Only word of caution would be to use the sail and sign card wisely, this is like your on board charge account.  Just remember whatever  you charge you have to pay for in the end.  The cruise director of our ship on the last day said that some of you might have figured out that your sail and sign card turned into a sink and sign card...lol.

  5. Many of the cruise ships  are similar. One ship may have a climbing wall, another an ice rink ans still another movies under the stars. You can't go wrong with Princess, or Royal Caribbean. As soon as you enter either of these cruise companies ships, you are in awe of the beauty and the largeness of it all. Myself, I have enjoyed Princess many times and have booked another cruise with them this fall. I would first pick a destination, then the ship. You can also read in cruise critic different reviews about different ships. Most all cruise companies must offer quality to stay in business, so I say try Princess or Royal Caribbean.

  6. Celebrity Cruise lines.

I was just on them and there were tons of Honeymooners on there.

  7. For our honeymoon 2 years ago my husband and I took the Carnival Conquest.  We had a blast.  The Conquest has 14 decks with tons of action and amenities.  The ship is huge and beautiful. The main dining rooms overlooked the ocean and were themed with romantic Eiffel Towers everywhere.  It was breathtaking!  We stayed in and Oceanview stateroom on the Riviera deck.  Our stateroom was very roomy and we could both sit in the windowseal and watch the sun set and waves go by.  The beds are extremely comfortable.  They all boast the Carnival Comfort Beds.  We recieved complimentary bathrobes in our stateroom and as always 24 hour room service.  It was nice to have breakfast in bed on occasion.  The Conquest has a newlywed show, lots of activities, and a really fun deck party.  There is even a huge Twister waterslide and newly placed put put golf and outdoor theater.  There is also many lounges, clubs, bars, pools, and a gym, spal, and salon onboard.  There was so much to do that we simply could not do it all!  Or you can just lounge by the pool all day if you wish.

The Conquest leaves from Galveston, TX year-round on Sundays.  It visits the breathtaking crystal clear beaches of Montego Bay, Jamaica (home of Margarittaville and even a town called h**l), Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands; and Cozumel, Mexico for 7 days.  We had an amazing time....so much in fact that we are booked on the Conquest again for next year.  This is by far the best ship I have sailed.  If you cannot leave from Galveston then I would suggest taking any other Conquest class sister ship (Glory, Valor, Liberty, or Freedom).  They are the best!  I guarantee that you will have an amazing and memorable time.

Here is the link for the Carnival Conquest...you can check rates, itinerary, view deck plans and see virtual tours.  http://www.carnival.com/conquest

*If you book one of these ships, I recommend being on the Forward end of the ship b/c that is where the main glass elevators are located. You can see this in the deck plans.

Hope all this info helped and I hope you choose the Carnival Conquest or one of her sister ships for your honeymoon.  If so let me know. Thanks.=)

  8. NCL or Princess

  9. My husband and I just got back from our honeymoon.  We cruised with Princess and it was fabulous.  We were on the Sea Princess in the Med.  The ship and the staff were incredible.  I would highly recommend it!

  10. I like Princess.

Here's a video I found on the internet that was pretty funny about cruises.  It reminded me of my cruise:

  11. I have been on about 20 cruises with 4 different cruise lines so I guess I'm a real "cruiser".

In term of which cruise line is best for your honeymoon you need to know that if you have the money to spend for the very best luxury cruises then there are some cruise lines like Crystal, Regent Seven Seas, and Silver Seas that are THE BEST.  They are luxury cruise lines that typically have only 700 to 800 passengers and everything is first class, including all balcony cabins, wine with dinner each day and great service and amenities.  Cruises on these lines typically start around $3-4,000 per person (that's vs about $1K on the next tier of cruise lines).

Now most people go on the next tier of cruise lines which would include Carnival (the cheapest), Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, Holland America, Princess and Celebrity.  Cruises on these lines typically start at about $800 to $1K for a 7 day cruise.  I have cruised on NCL, RC, Princess and Celebrity and its my opinion that for a honeymoon I would want the best ships and service and also lots of fun things to do on ship.  So  I think you cannot go wrong with selecting a cruise on Celebrity, Princess or Royal Caribbean, pretty much in that order.  Celebrity and Princess will provide a more reserved and classy cruise but Royal C will provide many more on board activities.

Regardless of which cruise line you select, pay attention to the initial launch dated for the ships.  The newer ships in all of the cruise lines are better, they have more and better amenities and more on-board activities.

My recommendation would be a Royal C cruise to the western Caribbean on the Mariner of the Seas leaving from Port Canaveral, Fl.:  http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruis...

Some other things you need to know are:

    (1) book early because the cruise lines give the best prices for early bookings a year or more in advance

    (2) look for specials as they can save you hundreds of dollars.

    (3) be flexible with your cruise date and go when the price is lower.
