CSA Provincial Three-Day Challenge - North West v Northerns – Update
In the ongoing three-day match between Northerns and North West at  Senwes Park, Potchefstroom North West trail by 36 runs with 4 wickets remaining in the 1st innings after restricting Northern on 155 runs on Thursday, November 10, 2011.
After winning the toss, North West chose to field first in a bid to restrict the opposition on a meagre total as they made early inroads by grabbing two wickets after giving away only 13 runs.
Northerns opener http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pieter-Malan-c2187 both found their way back to the pavilion after scoring only four runs.
However, opener Francois le Clus and Eden Links made sure not to give North West an easy match as the two batsmen played phenomenally well against their opponents.
The two batsmen posted 38 runs in the sixth wicket partnership, helping their side post a challenging total on the board.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Francois-le-Clus-c57315 smashed an innings of 45 runs while Eden Links clobbered a sensational knock of 58 runs to leave the opposition stunned.
However, they ended up posting only 155 runs in their first innings, leaving a window of opportunity for North West to climb back in the game.
With an average total ahead of them, North West came out to bat, aiming to post a mammoth tally on the board.

how North West had imagined things to turn out for them.

However, even he couldn’t play a bigger innings as he was dismissed in the 23rd over when his side had only managed to post 86 runs on the board.
At stumps, North West had finally managed to post 119 runs for the loss of six wickets with LJ Kgamadi on 26 and KM Vardhan on nil.
