  1. tell them that the father is unknown and they shouldnt ask you anymore questions.

  2. If you don't want help from the father then you don't have to tell the CSA.

The only exception is if you are claiming benefits such as income support, then the CSA will become involved. However there are some new changes since July 2008 which affect IS cases, but I still believe that the CSA become involved.

If you are employed then you are free to do what you want. You have to approach them to use the CSA. You are also free to arrange a private agreement with the father.

  3. You only HAVE to get them involved if you are applying for benefits such as Income Support of Job Seekers Allowance. If you don't they can cut your benefit by 40%, which is alot if you only have these benefits to survive on.

If you are in this situation and still don't want the father contacted, you have to prove that undue stress or harm would come to your or your children if he were contacted, they then assess this and decide whether or not he needs to pay.

If you are supporting yourself without benefits its your choice if you want the absent father to pay. This could be either through a personal agreement, through the csa, or not at all.

    Hope this helps
