CSI: FORENSIC CASE ROUND 2 TRY TO SOLVE IT!

Question

A man in a desert saw a rock with a stain of blood on it. Upon seeing it, he grabs his gun and shoots himself. What happened?

Is him being in the desert relevant?

Answer: Let's see if he was alone that means the blood had to belong to him. He'd marked the rock himself with the blood, telling himself that if he passed it again he was doomed and therefore had no reason to live. Upon walking for days he comes to the rock again. Seeing it he kills himself feeling hopeless.

Is the blood his own?

Really far-fetched answer time: Okay, I'm going to say the rock was really some sort of bone. The flesh freshly eaten off which is why it was blood stained. He was stranded on a deserted island of cannibals and only had one bullet left, as he could shoot all of them he shot himself.

Was he stranded in the desert?

Has he been there long?

Was he there alone?

Okay so he was alone. Was the blood his own?

If he had to grab his gun from somewhere, that means he had a pocket... so he must have had pants on.

Which means he must be pretty hot, since the desert is no place for pants.

MAYBE the rock was a gallstone that he just passed, and then he was all "eww man that's some nasty s*** " so he shot himself in the face? Maybe? No? Okay.

The man was hallucinating. He saw the blood on a rock. The most frightening for him is that its his blood, as he saw his body right next to the rock. so, he decided to kill himself.
