CSKA Moscow's Leonid Slutsky ashamed after Russian Premier League defeat against Rubin Kazan
In the latest round of Russian Premier League action, CSKA Moscow suffered a 2-1 defeat against Rubin Kazan at Luzhniki stadium. Leonid Slutsky, the Koni manager, has apologized to the fans, admitting that he is ashamed after the
home defeat.
The Armeytsy defence failed to cope up with the pressure put by the visiting side and conceded a quick goal on 16th minute mark. The Moscow-based club were not on top of their game but they managed to equalize during the first
period.
The second period started off well for the Moscow-based club and they earned a penalty. However, Doumbia failed to put it in before conceding a winner by the visiting team.
“We knew that it will be a very difficult game and the team who will implement their chances will win the respective tie. Unfortunately, we did not score a penalty and were sloppy at times. It's a shame, in my opinion, illogical
defeat.” The Russian Cup winner was quoted as saying.
Slutsky is of the opinion that the Russian outfit did not tak their chances well, and that they could have done better.

“He played a good match. It is clear that he was tired at the end but he had missed more than three months after sustaining a knee injury and it was his first game. Unfortunately, we are still limited to replacements. So I had
to involve him early on.” Slutsky concluded.
Honda was handed a new central midfield role during the match, which left the journalists surprised, and they quizzed the gaffer regarding the change. The Russian national revealed that Honda was not fit enough to take on the right

Slutsky revealed that he provided the Japanese national with a chance to regain his fitness ahead of the UEFA Champions League group stage clash against the French champions, Lille.
