Yevgeni Giner tips the Russian outfit to win the upcoming UEFA Champions League return leg against Copa del Rey winners at Santiago Bernabeu.
CSKA Moscow will travel to Spain to play the UEFA Champions League return leg against Real Madrid on March 14, 2012 at Santiago Bernabeu. The Moscow-based club will play the return leg after the 1-1 draw against the Spanish outfit
at Luzhniki stadium.
Yevgeni Giner, CSKA’s president, is of the view that the Armeytsy are on equal footings with the Madrid-based club and urged the Russian outfit to win the crunch European tie on the away turf.
He admitted to the difficulty playing against the Spanish giants, revealing that they have a fabulous set of players who can decide the fate of the match on their own.
However, he singled out the Koni key players as well and revealed that both sides have chances to reach the quarter-finals of the continental tournament.
“Both the teams have 50/50 chances. But we need to be careful this time around because Real have not lost many at home this season. There will be goals because I do not believe that Madrid will play for a 0-0 at their stadium.”
Giner was quoted as saying.
He added: “We believe in our players and we have proved that we are a major European-level club. Hopefully, the game at Bernabeu will be no less interesting as compared to the Luzhniki Stadium.”
The Russian national went on to praise the Moscow-based club, saying that they put up a decent European performance against the Los Blancos by limiting them to a single goal. As things stand, Real have scored 20 goals in just 7
European outings so far.
Giner hailed CSKA’s defence, revealing that they marked a decent defensive display against the European giants. He urged his team to display a similar performance when they travel to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011, next week.
Giner expressed that Real are not untouchables and gave the example of their home defeat against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Barcelona-c39078 from earlier in the season.
He assured the fans of ninety minutes of gruelling action and tipped the Russian outfit to score first.
