The Russian tactician is sweating over the fitness of Tomas Necid and Seydou Doumbia ahead of the UEFA Europa League third qualifying round return leg against AIK Fotboll
CSKA Moscow head coach, Leonid Slutsky, has admitted that the Moscow-based club faces a potential striking crisis at Luzhniki stadium after losing out the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Seydou-Doumbia-c33175 and Tomas Necid to injuries.
The Armeytsy, who managed to secure UEFA Europa League berth last season, face the possibility of playing the upcoming matches with just one striker at their disposal after a succession of injuries to their first-team attacker.
Necid reportedly damaged anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee during a workout against the Czech Republic team at Euro 2012. The Russian Cup winner is expected to miss the action for six months.
Doumbia, on the other hand, is under treatment at Germany after being diagnosed with a hernia problem. The diagnosis was made after the Ivorian striker limped off the field during a training session after sustaining a back injury.
Though the Moscow-based club have not put a time frame for the Ivorian striker’s possible comeback, Doumbia is expecting to return in four months time. The 24-year-old player is hospitalised in a Swiss clinic, where he will go
undergo a surgery.
According to the doctors, Doumbia will have to refrain from physical activity for at least three months in a bid to help them learn the root cause of the disease.
“We are missing Doumbia and Necid. W will try to rush Doumbia at some stage, if he's ready to play. The last time when I saw him at the base, I got a general impression that he is doing good.” The Russian national was quoted as
saying.
