Kerzhakov tips Zenit to extend their lead atop the Russian Premier League table after their latest 2-2 draw against the Moscow-based club at Luzhniki stadium.
The Meshki settled for a draw following an open contest in which both the sides created scoring chances. The visitors managed to score the first goal and the Armeytsy equalized just before the half-hour mark.
Though Zenit continued to dominate the second period of the match, even regaining the lead, they found it difficult to stop the Koni attacks and conceded an equalizer soon after. The final 20 minutes failed to produce a winner
and both teams had to settle for a point each.

Kerzhakov admitted that their arch-rivals CSKA Moscow have come a long distance since their poor second league round performances. The Red-blue suffered back-to-back defeats against Anzhi Makhachkala and Rubin Kazan in the last
two matches of the previous round.
At the same time, he lamented the draw and urged his teammates to work harder for the remaining matches of the season. He warned them against complacency and motivated them to retain the league title this season.
"We wanted to win but a draw in the current tournament situation is not a bad result for us.
“The game was very difficult but both the team’s played it with a high quality. I think we amused the audience right from the first minute because it was the match between the two leaders of the Russian championship.” The UEFA

Kerzhakov, who scored a brace against the Koni, went on to express his delight over helping the St. Petersburg club and assured the fans of similar performances in the remaining matches of the season.
