The Russian stopper makes a rallying cry over his team’s slump in Russian Premier League.
CSKA Moscow have been dropping points in the Russian Premier League ever since the third league round has started, and their latest 1-1 draw against Kuban Krasnodar has moved them nine points adrift of the top spot.
Though the visiting team managed to get in front through Seydou Doumbia’s goal, they failed to stop Anton Sekret from scoring a late equalizer at home.
The Moscow-based club’s poor league form has seen them claim just 5 wins from their last 20 league outings. Given that the Armeytsy have crashed out of Russian Cup and the UEFA Champions League already, their only hope is to present
their fans with a league title.
CSKA defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vasili-Berezutski-c35922, has admitted that the Russian outfit has been inconsistent during the third league round and that they need to learn from their mistakes if they are to avoid a disappointing end to the league campaign.
“We need to find out why we are not winning. We have, unfortunately, lost the spirit of the winners, for which we were famous in recent years. But CSKA Moscow, despite the recent problems are still at the second place, so we need
not to panic.
“It’s difficult to catch up with Zenit but we will get into the Champions League this season. We have very experienced people who are in the team for a long time and who know how to turn the tables. But there are some guys who
are happy after drawing a game.” The UEFA Cup winner was quoted as saying.
Speaking on the upcoming league tie against Anzhi Makhachkala, Berezutski revealed that he will not play the respective tie after sustaining a muscle injury. He lamented the situation and motivated his teammates to win the upcoming
match in his absence.
After sustaining the latest injury set-back, Berezutski has joined http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-Dzagoev-c4249 in the treatment rooms.
