The Russian midfielder urged his side to win the upcoming Russian Premier League tie against Zenit St. Petersburg and lamented his latest injury.
CSKA Moscow attacking midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-Dzagoev-c4249, has urged his side to reduce Zenit St. Petersburg’s lead atop the Russian Premier League table after winning the upcoming tie against them at Petrovsky stadium.
Dzagoev warned his team against complacency and told them that they need a win rather than a draw in their quest to reclaim the top spot on the league table. With six games left to play, they are at the second-spot and trail the
league leaders by a massive 11 points.
The Russian Super Cup winner admitted that the Moscow-based club only have themselves to blame themselves for the poor start to the third league round. However, he assured the fans of turning the tables in the remaining matches
of the ongoing league campaign.
“We now have an important game at our hands. I think the games that we played against Zenit over the years, have been more exciting as compared to the games against Spartak Moscow.” The former Krylia Sovetov-SOK player was quoted
as saying.
Dzagoev, who is recovering after sustaining a muscle injury while playing against Lokomotiv Moscow, revealed that he is making fine progress and will keep working hard to return to first team action.
“I sustained the injury 10 minutes before the end of the match against Loko. I had not suspected that the injury will be that much serious at that time. I was taken to the hospital and found out that I have a broken finger. I think
I will be back in 10-12 days.” Dzagoev said.
News in Russia suggests that CSKA’s first team goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Igor-Akinfeev-c16676, is set to mark his return in the upcoming game after spending six months on the sidelines. The veteran shot-stopper has not played a competitive game since
August 2011, after sustaining a shoulder injury.
Dzagoev admitted that the presence of the prolific shot-stopper at the gates will be a major boost for the entire team. He went on to admit that Malafeev is a type of player who can play a key role in the upcoming match.
