Mark Gonzalez reveals Manchester United dream
Mark Gonzalez, the 26-year-old CSKA Moscow winger, revealed he would love to make a move to English Premier League giants Manchester United. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chile-c2871 international was linked with a move to Old Trafford in the summer after a series of impressive performances
for the Russian side and admitted he would like to play for the Red Devils.
The Chilean said while speaking to reporters, “It would be a dream to have the chance to join Manchester United. We all know the quality that the team has and of course I would like to play in England again, even more at a team like Manchester United. But
while I am at CSKA I will only have my mind focused on my current team, trying to play and showing what I am doing.”
Gonzalez has had experience in the Premier League, having spent a short while with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809. The player arrived at Anfield on a loan move, hoping to make the arrangement more permanent in the 2005 season. However, trouble with his work permit and injuries
forced him to make just 25 appearances for the Reds, during which time he managed to score 3 goals.
In 2007, the Chile winger joined Real Betis for a fee of £5 million, he had a good spell at the club, making 44 appearances and scoring 10 goals. His form with Betis attracted a host of European clubs with CSKA Moscow offering the most for the player, €6.5
million. He signed a long term contract with the Russian side but could be on his way out if the right offer is made in the summer.
Craig Gordon out for the season
Sunderland boss Steve Bruce revealed first choice goal keeper Craig Gordon had been ruled out for an estimated six months, meaning he would not only miss the remainder of this season, but also the beginning of the next. The 28-year-old stopper recently underwent
an operation after which he has been sidelined for up to six months.
Bruce said while speaking to reporters, “Craig had the operation yesterday and it went well. He will be out for about four to six months now. Craig's been following a programme, but when the specialist had a look at the knee again, we were left with no choice
but to go ahead with the surgery.”
The Scotland international has been in too good a form for the Black Cats this season, suffering from a variety of injuries. He joined the English Premier League side from Scottish outfit Hearts in 2007 for £9 million. Into his fourth season at the club,
Gordon has made a total of 94 appearances.
