Alan Dzagoev is amongst the 23-man final squad that will represent the Russian national team selected by d**k Advocaat, the manager, for the upcoming Euro 2012 in Ukraine and Poland.
However, the promising and talented attacking midfielder will still find it difficult to claim a regular role in the starting line-up in presence of talented midfielders at Advocaat’s disposal at the moment.

CSKA Moscow’s Alan Dzagoev has admitted that he needs to work hard if he is to play more games in the European tournament and assured the fans of helping the Russian national team.

Though, Russia have failed to win the first two matches against Uruguay and Lithuania, they have managed to find the winning form after defeating Italy by 3-0 at Switzerland.
The 21-year-old midfielder, who has played in the UEFA Champions League pre quarter-finals against Real Madrid this year, has insisted that the upcoming European event is bigger than the Champions League.
“I have never experienced an event of this magnitude in my entire playing career. Perhaps the Champions League looks smaller in front of it. We need to put our heart and soul into this because we are representing out country.”
“I think we can achieve success in the tournament because we have been playing quality football in the friendly matches.” The former FC Krylia Sovetov Samara player was quoted as saying.
Dzagoev is of the belief that Russia are amongst the favourites to progress from the group stages. He has expressed his desire to play in the finals of the tournament and has urged his team-mates to gear up.
