CSU volleyball season schedule released - Volleybal update
The CSU volleyball program has recently made public its schedule for the year 2011. The schedule of the Rams is well known for being one of the toughest in the country and this year has been no exception.
The Rams finished off their last season by bagging themselves more than 20 wins in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) tournament and winning the Mountain West Conference championship.
Some of the important matches in line for CSU feature rivals from the Southeastern Conference as well as the Big Ten and the Big 12. Not only that, the Rams will prove their mettle once again while playing with their peers from the 2010 NCAA tournament.
The start of the Rams season will take place on the 26th of August and the team that CSU will be playing first is slotted to be the Razorbacks. The opening match of the Rams season will be played in the home ground of their rival team. After the
opening match, the Rams will be headed towards Middle Tennessee State team. Therefore, the second match of the season will be against a NCAA opponent. In this way, the start of the CSU season is going to take off from the top of the tables rather than making
a slow and steady climb upwards.
The Rams will also be heading towards Oklahoma where they will be contesting the Oklahoma Sooners. The Sooners had earned themselves the credit of being ranked as the 21st team on a national level by the American Volleyball Coaches Association
last year.
Afterwards, the Rams will be welcoming Nebraska , who have been able to get to the seventh position in the national rankings. Nebraska will be playing in the Rams home courts.
The coach of the Rams, Tom Hilbert, made the following comments about Nebraska coming to Moby Arena: "We are extremely excited to be able to bring a team the calibre of Nebraska to Moby Arena. We know that the Moby faithful will come out in full force, and
I think it will be a great match for fans of both programs."
With a tough couple of starting matches in front of them, the team needs to be ready for anything this year.
