So...say you're a contract employee who works 40 hours a week.

In connecticut, if you're a full time employee, you get paid for the first 5 days: http://www.jud.ct.gov/faq/jury.html#paid

Does this still apply if you're contract rather than salary???

  1. Connecticut is such a scam.  In any normal state, the state actually pays you the $50 per day from the first day.  That's insane that they won't pay you for jury duty, and then they expect your employer to foot the bill. So, if you're unemployed, it's basically slave labor, I guess.  Unbelievable.  I say move to a real state.

And, no, as a contract laborer, you probably aren't going to get paid by your employer, because you're not a regular employee.  But the court may decide differently, if they catch a whim.

  2. I was on a Jury for 2wks in Ct back in 1990 & only got paid $200 & it's still the same Rate cause Hubby got called 4 Jury Duty a few months ago it doesn't matter if your working or not as long as you serve on the jury you get paid a very boring job but in Ct or any state no Your Employer doesn't pay you but you get time off from work cause they can't Refuse you when it comes 2 Jury Duty the State pays you 4 your time on the case plus you get your check 2wks to a month later
